Mr Sandip Somany, Joint Managing Director, HSIL and an alumna of University of California, USA, has been associated with the leading brand of Sanitaryware in India for over two decades. He started his career as a trainee in the Company and then moved on to hold several key positions including Vice President (Technical) and President of Ceramic & Glass Division.

In 1990, Mr Sandip Somany became the President of Ceramic & Glass Division and then took over as the Joint MD of the Company in 1994. With a view to acquire greater market share as well as to have presence felt in the Southern market, he acquired a sick Company by the name of Krishna Ceramics Ltd., a Sanitaryware manufacturing unit at Bibinagar. Mr. Somany was given complete responsibility of operations of this Plant. This is a healthy and profit making Company today.

He has spearheaded the Company in crossing important milestones with the implementation of Sanitaryware Division’s expansion plan, repositioning of the Hindware brand, modernisation of Casting processes by installing Capillary and Battery casting machines, acquisition of Raasi Ceramics, switchover of oil-fired kilns to more energy-efficient and clean natural gas-fired technology, successful commissioning of world’s largest computer-controlled tunnel kiln, installing high voltage electrostatic glazing robots, etc. His efforts resulted in getting HSIL into the Forbes List of the Top 100 small & medium Companies (turnover less than USD 1 billion). ICRA also accorded A1 + credit ratings to the Company.

	He is an enthusiastic supporter of the Green Movement, which shows in the high level of environmental maintenance in and around all the manufacturing units.
	Providing education to children is a cause, which is very close to his heart. He is a member of the Delhi Achievers’ Round Table, and is funding a project for education and empowerment of the underprivileged women and girls along with providing public school facilities in the Company’s various plants.

Ms Sumita Somany, the entrepreneur wife of Mr Sandip Somany, Joint Managing Director of HSIL is deeply involved in championing the vision of Home Fashion concepts in the country. With the credentials of an acclaimed Vaastu, Feng Shui and Tarot Card consultant, she is now poised to step into the modern Retail sector with a venture created to be the first choice partner for customers aspiring for ‘Value for Style’ home fashion and interior solutions.

As a people’s person, she along with her team identified the need to reach out to offer single window lifestyle solutions that fulfill the core of target client needs. Creating the right ambience and living environment influences the perception that leads to individual and family wellbeing. Mr D.K.Jairath, Chief Executive Officer & Business Head, Hindware Home Retail (P) Limited (HHRPL) is a diversified senior business management professional in the industry, armed with an Engineer-MBA background. He started his career as a trainee Engineer with Hero Honda Motors and then moved on to hold several key positions with Escorts, Yamaha and Godrej Group. He has been instrumental in defining the diversification plans of HSIL to become a Total Home Solutions Company, and now heads their new Home Interiors retail venture. During his rich career span of about 20 years, Mr Jairath has successfully managed multiple industry sectors, functions and geographies.

With the objective of being a highly successful corporate entrepreneur, Mr Jairath has been engaged in multiple challenging assignments involving operations turnaround, business growth and profitability throughout his career. Among his most enriching and passionate experiences are the turnaround assignments during his Godrej tenure as well as the conceptualisation and establishment of the Home Interiors retail venture for HSIL.

Equipped with a sound Technical, Commercial, HR & Strategy skills, Mr Jairath has successfully implemented several innovative projects within the Corporate setups. Being a strong believer in Process-driven business environment, he has been instrumental in several TQM & Process management initiatives across organisations. His diversified stints across sectors like Automotive, Engineering, Consumer Durables, FMCG, Retail & Services with national spans and exports have provided a well rounded understanding of the business environment and industry sectors.
